I have been to a few doctors in my day and it's almost impossible anymore to get an appointment on a Friday. Most Doctors are working 4 day weeks at the most. I have read a recent study suggesting there is not only a shortage in general practitioners but also in general surgeons (Think of simple surgeries like appendectomy). Doctors don't want to work in Hospitals, they want to be in private practice with Hospital Privileges. If I were taking the time and money to become a Physician I would want to be a specialist too.
